In light of recent technological advances, and new customer interests, many companies are turning towards electric vehicles and applying quite a bit of research and development in the matter. Most companies now offer hybrid vehicle options, while others do sell fully electric sedans. Hybrids are becoming much more popular on the road, and they are expected to become increasingly popular in the coming years. Lincoln will contribute to this factor, as they plan to offer a hybrid option for each of their models in the U.S. by 2022.

This is a big step for Lincoln. Presently, the Lincoln MKZ is the only vehicle in their fleet that offers a hybrid option. This opens several doors for the company. While hybrids are not uncommon anymore, the luxury hybrid field is still relatively small. By hybridizing all of their models, Lincoln ensures that they can provide for their customers as the market’s interest begins to change.

Depending on market trends and technological advancement, it is possible that Lincoln could field an all-electric vehicle. The move would be in keeping with the times; more and more consumers are turning towards environmentally friendly options when buying a vehicle. Additionally, the biggest market in the world, China, is interested in these alternatively fueled vehicles.

It remains to be seen just how expansive Lincoln’s electrical fleet will be. However, it is safe to say that there will be much more coming from the company than there previously has been. In fact, the Lincoln Navigator Hybrid is set to hit the road in 2019. The future holds many things for Lincoln, and electric vehicles are at the forefront.
